JOHN PAKURIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The John Pakuris Memorial Scholarship
offers a $2000 scholarship to one student who is a United States citizen
and a member of the St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church of Broomall,
Pennsylvania. This is a competitive scholarship based on merit and need
with the award winner to be selected upon recommendation by the
Scholarship Committee to the parish priest. Applicants must be accepted
into an accredited four year college or university or an accredited
graduate program either in the United States or in any other country.
Candidates securing an advanced degree do not have to reside at the
institution and could be engaged in distance learning. Any candidate who
has been accepted into an orthodox seminary and is pursuing a life in
the ministry of our Greek Orthodox Church will be given first priority.
Recipients may re-apply in successive years for the scholarship.

All applications must be
postmarked no later than Monday, April 21, 2008. Incomplete applications
or those postmarked after this date will not be processed. All
information received from applicants will be treated as confidential. A
personal interview will be required of finalists. Award winners will be
notified by Monday, May 19, 2008.
